Parent and Student Comments
Ms. Drumwright not only helped me dramatically improve my verbal SAT and ACT test scores, but also mentored me on my common application essay. She went above and beyond her role of college prep counselor; she even landed me an awesome summer internship in New York City with a prestigious health care policy institute! Her services were professional and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a serious boost to their reach schools.

Ms. Drumwright is an incredible SAT tutor and college counselor. Not only did she help me improve my SAT reading and writing scores, she also guided me through the intimidating college application process. My writing and communication skills have greatly improved with her help. With her guidance, I was accepted to Cooper Union class of 2015 with a full tuition scholarship. I am forever grateful for her help, and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs tutoring or college advice.

Prepping for the SAT and writing college essays were definitely the most stressful aspects of my high school career. Ms. Drumwright, however, enabled me to embrace the process through her diligent efforts. Whether it meant staying up past midnight or waking up before sunrise, Ms. Drumwright and I were easily able to collaborate especially because of her highly motivational attitude. Once I completed the SAT and my essays, it was evident through my scores and the number of high-caliber universities I was able to apply to, that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without Ms. Drumwright.

Ms. Elizabeth Drumwright is an excellent SAT prep tutor and college admissions counselor for students who want to work hard and enter Ivy League colleges or other top-notch colleges in the country. Ms. Drumwright is a meticulous and conscientious tutor with enormous experience in SAT tutoring and college counseling. She has been of great help to our daughter, Aaminah, who was accepted by Yale University into its Class of 2018. I would strongly recommend Ms. Drumwright to those students who are academically ambitious and who, like our daughter, want to make a positive contribution to humanity.

I discovered Ms. Drumwright through a family friend and heard she did a great job preparing my friend for the Writing and Critical Reading sections of SAT. I knew I wanted to improve my scores so I decided to give her SAT prep a try. In the summer before my junior year, along with two friends, I took Ms. Drumwright’s prep class for six weeks. In that short time, we learned tips and patterns common to the SAT. We also learned how to beat the Essay portion. My score improved over 200 points after her prep. I would definitely recommend Ms. Drumwright to students who are looking to improve their Critical Reading or Writing scores!

Ms. Drumwright is an exceptional college counselor and SAT tutor. Her guidance helped me gain admission to fourteen of the most selective colleges in the country and achieve my goal of getting into my reach schools like Harvard and Princeton (in addition to Amherst, Dartmouth, Duke, Vanderbilt and Williams). With her advice in classes at school and in her book on the writing section of the SAT, I improved on all three sections of the SAT, including a perfect score on the writing section. Ms. Drumwright also helped me brainstorm more topnotch ideas and refine my essays to stand out among the pool of applicants at my reach schools. Finally, she was helpful in guiding me through the college admissions process, from narrowing down a list of schools to navigating financial aid. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Drumwright to any students who are looking for guidance in any part of the college admissions process or improvement on standardized tests. She went above and beyond in her role to ensure that I succeeded and I am forever grateful for Ms. Drumwright’s help.

Ms. Drumwright helped me approach my SAT Critical Reading and Writing problems and my AP Language assignments in a whole new way. She taught me methods that I would never have developed on my own, from building a repertoire of analyses and categorizations of books I’ve read and historical events I know of, to building my vocabulary skills through process of elimination, to incorporating imaginative and risky metaphors into writing assignments. Her methods helped me drastically improve my SAT score and helped me develop successful essays for my early college applications to Swarthmore College and Williams College. I highly recommend Ms. Drumwright!

I am truly grateful to have had Elizabeth as my essay coach during the college admissions process. During a time when it was crucial to have a third, non-biased eye read over my personal application essays, Elizabeth’s keen perspective and helpful advice, coupled with her good-humored personality, really went a long way in helping me to realize the finished products of which I was so proud. Thanks to her extensive knowledge of the application process, and her own prowess as a writer herself, she can catch what less-experienced eyes cannot; and if that were not enough, she goes above and beyond by offering true gems of brilliant insight. I am ever-appreciative of those long, productive hours of coffee shop-edits and one-on-one discussions, and would definitely recommend Ms. Drumwright to any aspiring writer or applicant-hopeful who wishes to have their prose polished, while at the same time, their voice preserved.

Ms. Drumwright’s knowledge and guidance was the biggest resource in deciding on a college, and not a day goes by that I don’t think that Babson College was the best school for me. Every step since has been exactly what I wanted out of my education, my career, and my life. At Babson I was able to see EMC as an opportunity and take advantage of it. So it is no stretch to say Ms. Drumwright’s counsel shaped the last six years, and that foundation I’m sure will shape the years to come. This woman genuinely changed my life. Ms. Drumwright believed in me when as an economically disadvantaged teenager I had past given up on myself, and all I can do is express my infinite gratitude. In my 13 years at my school, Doane Academy, Ms. Drumwright’s tutelage as my college counselor was by far the most impactful of any lesson or class I had.

Ms. Drumwright has really helped me achieve to the best of my ability. Together we brainstormed and edited several stellar college essays, which brought out my creative sense. After seeing how Ms. Drumwright helped me write amazing essays, I asked her to help me better prepare for my AP Language and Composition op-ed assignments. With her help, I went from earning low B’s to high A’s in AP Language and Composition. I can’t believe how much my writing ability improved in such a short period of time. Thanks to Ms. Drumwright I got into the college of my choice. She is definitely the best tutor I have ever had!

Ms. Drumwright is all you can ask for in a tutor. Not only does she provide great English help by improving basic writing and analysis skills, but Ms. Drumwright can also guide you through standardized test preparation and application processes, whether it be a summer program or college admissions. Her versatility is without a doubt her greatest strength.

I took multiple writing workshops with Elizabeth, and she is the one who first introduced me to Case Western Reserve University, the college I now happily attend. Not only did Elizabeth help increase my test scores, but she also taught me about how to utilize my writing skills in areas other than standardized testing. I will remember how Elizabeth went beyond being just a tutor by teaching me about important current events and offering valuable advice during my college application process. I ended up applying to and receiving a large scholarship from Case Western and have really enjoyed my time so far at the college.

Elizabeth Drumwright is a top notch SAT tutor and college counselor, highly recommended! It was a blessing for us to work with Elizabeth. After attending a summer SAT Prep program at Princeton Review, my daughter Julie was very disappointed and we realized that what she needed was a highly experienced personal tutor. We were stunned by the proposed fee of over $200 per hour for qualified tutors recommended by Princeton Review. Through word of mouth from a couple of my colleagues, we found Elizabeth before my daughters’ PSAT test. We were convinced after the first session and have referred Elizabeth to a number of our friends. For those of us who are first generation immigrants, college prep is a black box. With the guidance of Elizabeth, my daughter received a PSAT score high enough to qualify for National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist. Julie gained confidence beyond test taking. She continued to work with Elizabeth on application packages and learned how to pick a college program of her interest. I don’t know where my daughter will land in a few months, but I do know that she likes every school she applied, thanks to the mentorship provided by Elizabeth.

We were very blessed to find Elizabeth to help Alex during his college application. As a teacher, Elizabeth has the ability of transforming a student. She helped my son Alex improved his writing skills significantly in a very short period of time. This not only increased his SAT Writing Test score by nearly 100 points, but also enabled him to write powerful application essays that showed his full character and made him a vivid person who stands out. As a counselor, Elizabeth knows the college application process inside out. The tips she provided for Asian applicants were especially helpful for Alex. More importantly, she talks to teenagers in such a way they LISTEN. This released my biggest headache and made the college application process so much smoother and more enjoyable.

Elizabeth Drumwright has helped me through a lot! She guided me through all my college essays and I don’t know how I could possibly thank her. I managed to get into my top choice school and I have her to partially thank for that. If there’s one word I can describe Elizabeth, its “Wonderful!” She has an amazing personality and is very caring. I got to know her very well through all our sessions and I know anyone who comes to her will absolutely love her! Thank you so much, Elizabeth, for everything you have done.

I could not recommend Ms. Drumwright more! She has helped me tremendously for my numerous college essays. She is very easy to interact with and wants to get to know you personally, which improves the quality of the lessons or the workshops. As an international student from Turkey, who has been attending The Hun School for 3 years, I have no hesitation to say Ms. Drumwright has provided the best tutor experience I have ever had. Ms. Drumwright was invaluable to me during many aspects of my high school career, whether that was helping me to explore my interests in business, or assisting me during the arduous college application process. She helped me to solidify my interest in business when she recommended that I attend Drexel University’s Camp LeBow over the summer before my junior year. Camp LeBow opened a window into college life and the field of business, and gave me many memorable experiences. The connections I made during this camp actually landed me an internship during my junior year.
Ms. Drumwright also had me approach my college application essays in creative ways that never would have crossed my mind. Throughout this stressful time, she helped me to stay on track and produce unique essays that drew from my experiences mentoring freshmen high school students, coaching tennis, and brainstorming business ventures – showing colleges my many facets and leadership abilities. I am very happy I chose her and I can’t thank her enough for the assistance she has given me. I recommend her to students looking not only to take their college applications and essays to the next level, but also for a mentor and guide as well.

Ms. Elizabeth Drumwright was a huge help during my college admissions process. She not only advised me with my multiple college essays, but she also gave me the tools to improve my SAT score by 130 points. With her help, I was well prepared and confident to tackle the essay, which had previously been my weakness. Additionally, Ms. Drumwright was accommodating to my crazy schedule, as she met with me through Skype early in the morning when I couldn’t get to Princeton. Ms. Drumwright is the best SAT tutor for high-achieving students!

Ms. Drumwright is an amazing teacher. She was very kind and patient with me and never got frustrated. She also gave me excellent feedback on my SAT essays and pinpointed exactly what I needed to do in order to improve. Because of her excellent guidance, I scored 150 points higher on the reading and writing portions of the SAT. My final scores were Critical Reading 730 and Writing 750. I definitely recommend her to students who want to improve their English and standardized test-taking skills.

I am so grateful to have had Ms. Drumwright as my SAT tutor. Before I started learning from her, I was frustrated with the critical reading and writing portion of the SAT. My practice tests showed that my scores were stagnant, and I just could not improve them, even after already taking an SAT prep course. However, after I started studying with Ms. Drumwright, I learned so much. I looked forward to each lesson, because she was so patient with me, and would make the lessons entertaining with little stories (that made excellent essay examples). I am thankful for her because when I took the SAT for the first time, my critical reading score, usually the lower of the three sections, was my best. I got a 780 in critical reading, which is more than a 100-point increase. As high school junior, I definitely plan to go back to her for advice during the college application process.
